Ryosuke Irie began competing at the Japan Open today. In the 100 Back, he swam a 53.31 to beat Junya Koga (53.86) and Takashi Nakano. Some people had expected much better of Irie today, as low as a 52-low. I even saw a 1:51.9 in the 200!
