Reed Shimberg's Radical Predictions

Reed Shimberg, who you might know from "Checking In With" interview series on the Swimming World website, has also contributed some predictions. His picks feature much more upsets and surprises than others that I have seen: Reed has Nick Thoman upsetting Aaron Peirsol in the 100 back, with Ryan Lochte third. He also has Lochte beating Michael Phelps in the 200 IM, which could only be considered an upset because of Lochte's recent knee and groin injuries. He has Robert Margalis finishing a strong second in the 400 IM, Andrew Gemmell finishing second in the men's mile, Teresa Crippen finishing third in the women's 200 back, and Erika Erndl getting onto the U.S. team in the 400 free relay, all beating out favorites such as Tyler Clary, Peter Vanderkaay, Liz Pelton, and Natalie Coughlin.
