THE Swim Geek's Predictions

Finally, I will post my predictions. I was not waiting until the last minute and cheating off everyone else's picks, but rather I made mine several weeks ago and have adjusted them several times. Unlike others I have read, my predictions do not have many upsets. My highlighted pick is Nick Thoman to take down Peirsol in the 100 back. I pick Elaine Breeden to win a tight 200 fly that locks out both World Championships representatives from last year. Sneaking in for a third place spot I have Todd Patrick in the men's 400 IM, David Russell in the men's 100 fly, and Justine Mueller and Clark Burckle in the 200 breaststrokes. Most importantly, these predictions are better than those of Chris DeSantis, but we'll let the swimming do the rest of the talking.

  1. nice picks david. glad to see someone else pick morgan scroggy for a relay berth in 800 free relay (even though only 1 point) as she's already been 1.58 mid in July...surprised more haven't picked leverenz in 200 br as she went 2.25 at pan am games in 07 and seems to be getting back to form...probably more so in IM events but once you've been a 2.25, shouldn't be hard for her to go at least at 26 which should get her on podium. Soni,(ONLY World Record post tech suits this year), Hehn, 2.24.
